Rowan County Histories Collection

The Rowan County Histories Collection consists of histories from Rowan County and Eastern Kentucky collected and organized by the Rowan County Historical Society and housed in the Rowan County Public Library in Morehead, Kentucky. The collection includes, histories on significant historical events, people, and places associated to Rowan County, Kentucky.

The Rowan County Historical Society was established in 1977 as a group of people who shared a common interest in any phase of the history of Rowan County, Kentucky and vicinity. Members work to organize historical research and promote community awareness of all aspects of the county’s heritage, which includes publications on the history of Rowan County.
