Rowan County Genealogy Collection

The Rowan County Genealogy Collection consists of family histories from Rowan County and Eastern Kentucky collected and organized by the Rowan County Genealogical Society and housed in the Rowan County Public Library in Morehead, Kentucky. The collection includes, census information, pedological charts, birth, marriage and death certificates, deeds and land grants, published obituaries, newspaper clippings, and other materials preserved by family members.

The Rowan County Genealogical Society was originally established as part of the Rowan County Historical Society in 1977 to organize historical research and promote community awareness of all aspects of the county’s heritage.
