Comments

St. Gregory the Great was the Pope from 590-604. He aided in the development of the Gregorian chant, which is a type of liturgical music. He often had to navigate between the church's spiritual authority and what its civic responsibilities were. He also created the Gregorian mission, which was an effort to the pagan Anglo-Saxons to Christianity.
