Description

Gov. William J. Fields (1874-1954) was nicked named 'Honest Bill from Olive Hill'. He represented Kentucky's 9th district in the House of Representatives (1911-23) and became Kentucky's 41st governor (1923-27). He was the driving force behind making Carter Caves a state park, which happened in 1946. Photo circa 1920s.
