Description
Bill of lading from 1867. Regular packets plied the Ohio river and its tributaries. In addition, tramp steamers traveled whenever and wherever freight needed moving. On a smaller scale, push boats moved cargo upstream at low water as well.
This one is the Regular Portsmouth, Greenupsburg, Ironton, Ashland and Big Sandy Packet.
