Cora W. Stewart was born in 1875. She began teaching (1895) and was elected as superintendent twice (1901,1909). She became the first female president of the Kentucky Educational Association and created the first Moonlight School for adults in the same year (1911). Stewart was elected to the executive committee of National Education Association (1923). She won many awards and recognitions before retiring (1936). She passed away in 1958.
