Description
President FDR established the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) on April 5, 1933 as part of the New Deal legislation. The CCC's goal was to help end the high unemployment rate during the Great Depression by employing young, unmarried men in environmental conservation jobs. The CCC ended in 1942.
