Description

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) was part of the American New Deal agency to provide employment in low-income areas, such as the Appalachian area. Most WPA projects were building construction and road work. Construction was not the only job field that was funded - art and archeology were, too. The WPA ran from 1935-1943.
