Abstract
A photograph taken of Morehead, Kentucky in August of 1885. The photo was taken on elevated ground north of town, not far from where Camden-Carroll Library on the campus of Morehead State University presenty is located. At the time of the photo, there were three companies of the Kentucky State Guard which occupied the grounds of the old Rowan County Courthouse to restore order, arrest offenders and guard the Court of Justice.
