Dr. John M. Forbes from Lexington, KY, was named the coordinator of MSU's Appalachian Library collection in 1978. This position made him responsible for organizing, utilizing, and disseminating Appalachian artifacts and materials, which were housed on the top floor of the library tower.
His photos were taken during august of 1978.
