Abstract
Morehead State University is in rural Eastern Kentucky. The college's service area has high levels of poverty and the city has one small bookstore. Adding to this, the university distributes little money into cultural or literary endeavors and yearly invests less than $25 per student on new book acquisitions. Thus, to put it mildly, many of our faculty feel that we are in a book- deprived region.
