Skip to my Lou is a fun partner stealing dance that started in Scotland. Scottish immigrants brought the song with them and in the 1840s, it was popular in southern Indiana as a party game. It was also a popular during slavery as the line 'lost my partner, what'll I do' represents when couples were separated during these times. Nowadays, it's a children's song.
