The Navy Training Program at Morehead State is a collection of digitized photographs taken during the Second World War on the campus of Morehead State Teachers College, presently Morehead State University.
From June 1, 1942 to the summer of 1944 over 3,000 seamen were taught mathematics and science at the Naval Training Program at Morehead State Teachers College. Groups of 600 sailors spent four months at Morehead State preparing them to serve as electricians in the United States Navy. The residents of Morehead effectionately called the young seamen "blue jackets" and the campus a "seaport."
