Abstract

A documentary film on the life and times of Kentucky writer Barbara Kingsolver. She describes her childhood in a small Kentucky town, her college experience, travels in Europe and life in Arizona. Kingsolver identifies how her writing has been influenced by her roots in Kentucky, as well as by her political and social values. Includes interviews with her family, literary agent, and other authors. Includes readings from "Another America," "Rose-Johnny," "The Bean Trees," "Pigs in Heaven," and "High Tide in Tucson." Produced by Kentucky Educational Television in 1997.
