In ancient Greek mythology Nike is the goddess of Victory.She is the daughter of Pallus the Titan, her father, and Styx, her mother. Nike is commanded by god Zeus. Bulls were sacred animals and were thought to contain the living soul of local god.

Plaster cast of Nike Sacrificing a Bull. Original was found in the Villa of Antoninus Pius, now housed in the British Museum, circa 2nd century.
